Hghs (human growth hormones) were discovered as far back as the 1920's. It was in 1958 that a pioneering endocrinologist first injected hghs into a stunted child who produced no growth hormones at all. To everyone's amazement the child began to grow and soon many doctors were using it as a treatment for growth deficient youngsters. During this time hghs could only be obtained at a few drops from the cadavers of thousands of dead brains which were extracted from the pituitary gland. As more and more children began to be treated it became evident that there would soon not be enough. When three children developed mad cow disease which only affects one in 1 million people it was clear that this deadly virus had hitchhiked on the back of the human growth hormone molecule. The FDA ordered the drug to be halted and by 1991 seven children had developed mad cow disease out of the 5000 that had received treatment. This meant that the drug had to be synthesized from scratch which would be a monumental and very difficult task because it is a very large molecule made up of 191 amino acids. Since scientists were now able to do gene splicing they could clone the proteins that makeup of the human body. This meant that they would have to be able to identify the exact sequences of the DNA for this very large protein. Once this protein was cloned the e coli bacterium found in the human gut could be harnessed to churn out an endless supply of this drug. The company by the name of Genentech managed to accomplish this great feat in 1985 with great celebration and press release. There celebration was short lived because their drug which they named ProTrophin was one amino acid short of the 191 amino acids in the human counterpart. This allowed another company to get around the patent. A company by the name of Eli Lilly succeeded in synthetically making human growth hormone with the full 191 amino acids that was a hundred percent identical physically, chemically and biologically to the one made by a the human pituitary gland. This means there's no worry of side effects due to a hormone that is not identical to the human body but only mimics its behavior as so many other kinds of synthetic hormones today do. The only danger of side effects from human growth hormone lies in the administration of it when it is done by direct needle injection in which case one can administer too much which can bring on over growth of bone and breast like features in men. The injected hghs is illegal unless done by the administration of a doctor. Besides needle injected Hgh, there are two other types of human growth hormone therapy that are safe and legal in the United States and other countries. Secretagogue Human growth hormone therapy consists of the certain amino acid that are able to penetrate the blood brain barrier to hours after or one hour before a meal. This sets off a complex series of reactions that stimulates the pituitary gland to produce more human growth hormone that stimulates the liver to produce insulin growth factor one and thus have its desired effect. The problem with Secretagogues or what are known as amino stacks is that they do not increase insulin growth factor one as high as needle injected human growth hormone or homeopathic human growth hormone. The highest that I have seen is an increase in IGF-1 of around 105. In fact, Howard Turney, the father of growth hormone, said, " my wife and I had been using a homeopathic human growth hormone. . . for some time now. . . And we are receiving the benefits we previously experienced with the in injectable form of HGH and at a greatly reduced price. And example of a site selling high quality homeopathic hgh with strong clinical evidence can be found through going to www.hghs.biz and www.hghblen.com.
