Where does time begin and where does it end? And where does space begin and where does it end. Our minds are incapable of coming up with any logical answers to these questions. Therefore we have to believe that there is no beginning and no end to time or space. Most of us may have already come to that disconcerting conclusion. We can go crazy just thinking about this reality, or we can derive a certain degree of comfort and acceptance from it. Before we were born into this world, there was an unlimited eternity of time. The same applies to the limitless eternity of time that will ensue after we die. This is nothing new. It has always been this way. In some ways it is comforting to know that our own lives, and in fact the entire six billion years of existence of the planet Earth, are less than a split second compared to the endlessness of time. If we accept this, and we must accept it, we must realize that the best we can hope for and strive for, it to try to enjoy the ride, and provide a happy, interesting ride for all of those we love. And to leave the world a little better than we found it. If we can accomplish these modest goals, we will have fulfilled our mission. We should also stop to consider that the coincidence of our having been born in the first place, was like a one in a billion chance. Think of all your thousands of ancesters who had to meet each other in order for you and me to have been born in the first place. So we should look upon our very existence, and the existence of our parents, spouses, and children as a free ride for all of us. All we can do is make the best of it.
