Obedience I saw the word obedience and it stood out among all the words I was reading and I pondered why this word was standing out, almost with neon lights to me. I quickly went within and got some insight to this word and I will share it with you as it is given to me. Scott, obedience is a word in your language that has many meanings, many of which do not serve your soul’s purpose well. Since, you were raised in a religious environment you had this word “pounded” into your psyche. This word, when you look at it through your religious glasses or filter will look far different from what Spirit might interpret it. It is a beautiful word when it serves your soul. It is a very depressing word, and quite negative when taken in religious context. Obedience is a wonderful expression to your own soul. From a religious stand-point though it can be a tool, or weapon to bring you into feelings of guilt. Spirit would say to you, and to all hearing, or seeing your words, that guilt, or feelings of guilt do not serve your soul’s ultimate growth and healing of your psyche. Religion or religious leaders use this word as a “hammer” to get you to perform, or do something that serves their life’s purposes…but will not help you, or serve you. This word directed in a religious way, filtered through religious eyes, will motivate you to feel guilty, because after all, no one is totally obedient in every thing are they? My answer…No. So one must analyze this word carefully, and at the same time listen to their feelings evoked by it. Does this word evoke an emotion of guilt that you have not done enough for God? That you are unworthy of God’s love and grace in your life? Or, does it cause your feelings to turn to the well-being of your soul’s individual purpose and goal? Take everything you have ever learned and analyze each thing listening carefully to your emotions about it. If your emotions evoke negativity around a word, a saying, or something someone is teaching you…take note internally, and tune in to God and your Higher Self for the real answer. There will be a vibration attached to what you are seeing or hearing that will “ring” true, or will “ring” false as far as your soul’s evolution is concerned. The key here is to tune-in to Source, listen to how your body reacts to the word, phrase or saying. Does it feel good to you or feel negative to you? It is that simple. If you were raised religiously, like many have been, then it will be a challenge for you to go beyond what you have been taught from “spiritual teachers” that you respect. It will even be harder for you to go contrary to what you call a holy book, or what you consider the Holy Bible. All scripture written does not mean that God has his “stamp of approval” on it. You must remember that God is bigger than just one book, or even a collection of books and teachings. God cannot, and will not be confined by such things written by man. God does not dwell in temples made with hands, but only in the heart. Again, Scott, this is your safest place to reside…in the heart. The heart will not fail you for it is constantly in tune with Spirit and with the heart of God. You cannot go wrong when you truly tune-in to it and then trust it to be what you are feeling vibrationally. Everything has a vibrational tone to it that your spirit interprets constantly. You would call this a certain “vibe” that you feel. You must train your heart to listen to these vibrations and allow your spirit to interpret them. Just because someone claims to have truth, or special knowledge, or even claims miraculous powers; this is not a carte blanche stamp of approval from your heart, or spirit within. Listen to it always as it will not lead you astray. Again, you mind will try to come in and convince you that the heart does not know what it is doing…but the mind can contain all kinds of filters and perceptions that are based in error. Am I saying to you to throw out the mind as it does not serve you? No, I am not, because your mind too is part of the divinity that you are. All things, body, mind, and heart can work in sync with each other, or they can be contrary to your soul’s destiny. You choose which one will serve your higher purposes. Again, the heart will not lead you astray. So, Scott, the word obedience boils down to being obedient to your hearts desires and your higher purposes. When used in this way, rather than as a weapon to bring you into feelings of guilt, will ultimately work for your highest and greatest good in this life and those to follow. Mankind has made this principle way too difficult. It sounds too simple for most to just open up their hearts, be conscious of their feelings, and listen to see if something has a good vibe or a bad vibe and choose the one that serves your soul’s highest purpose…but it is that simple! God has made it so easy that even a little child could not get it wrong. And you, Scott, cannot get it wrong if you but follow your heart. Let go of all beliefs, statements, dogmas that do not serve your soul’s highest purpose and design. You are divinity in a body, live like it. Blessings my beloved, Gwendolyn (Gwendolyn is one of Scott’s spiritual guides/teachers)
