Natural Healing for Women with Bach Flower Essences

By:

As interest in alternative medicine is growing rapidly, many folks have now heard of Bach Flower Essences or 'Flower Remedies', the most famous being Dr. Edward Bach's Rescue Remedy formulation. This essence blend is commonly used to calm the emotions in traumatic or stressful situations. Many, many flower essences are now available, for a great variety of emotional or psychological conditions. Here we'll have a look at several that are commonly used to support women's health through the healing of emotional wounds or unhealthy psychological patterns. Consistent and proper use of these essences may allow women with negative self images or repressed feminine expression to truly shine forth and fully take part in life.

We'll start with a brief flower essence primer - what are they and how do they work? Flower essences are liquid preparations, usually with water and a little brandy, containing the energetic imprint of the flower. None of the original flower remains in the water, unlike tea. Instead, the water, which is a highly-imprintable substance where energy patterns are concerned, holds an etheric picture of the flower and stores it indefinitely. What does this mean for us? Well, as modern science is revealing, we are all made of energy - all matter is really distinct patterns of energy which our senses perceive as solid. Emotional and psychological states and conditions have an energy pattern too. It is these energy patterns on which a flower essence can have an effect. They are not so dense as matter; they are more fluid and mutable - usually maintained through our own habits or self-images. Flower essences infuse the vibrational pattern of a particular flower into this etheric emotional/psychological vibrational pattern of ours. Oftentimes, this can be the impetus needed for change, and essences have been shown to support healing from actual physical illness through a change in the mind (or heart) of the patient. That said, here's a few flower essences that may be of particular use in healing to women, allowing full and bright expression of the divine feminine principal within us all.

The flower essence of Alpine Lily is used to bring about personal acceptance of the female body. Women who benefit from this remedy are often high spirited, but deny that expression through their physical being. They may feel the female organs as 'lower', tending to favor 'cosmic' or 'virginal' representations of the feminine. Alpine Lily integrates this feminine expression with the earthly aspect of the material body, helping dispel negative impressions of the body which may have been absorbed from the mother or from the surrounding culture.

The flower essence of Pomegranate supports expression of the sensual, where this may have been repressed through any number or sources. Pomegranate is indicated in almost every case of negative self image tied to sexuality, allowing a full connection to the second chakra of the pelvis. For this reason, it's also used as an aphrodisiac, allowing a comfortable connection to this source of femininity. This is especially useful for women whom do not feel a connection to this area of their body; this may have even resulted in disease in the area, and oftentimes a more positive mindset will accelerate healing in these cases.

Hibiscus Flower Essence: This essence promotes warmth and responsiveness in female sexuality; integration of soul warmth and bodily passion. It may help one overcome an inability to connect with one's female sexuality; lack of warmth and vitality, often due to prior exploitation or abuse. One of the most tragic assaults to the soul dignity of women is the exploitation and commercialization of female sexuality. This deeply wounds the souls of many women so that they no longer feel a warm connection to their sexuality. Often the sexuality is divorced from deeper feelings of love and warmth which come from the heart. In many cases sexual expression becomes cold and unresponsive, because the Soul can no longer contact this part of the Self and infuse it with love and caring. Hibiscus flower essence helps women to reclaim their sexuality, and to restore these soul forces with vitality and authenticity. The Hibiscus essence may aid many women who have been sexually traumatized, and it is also generally beneficial for all modern women who have unconsciously absorbed media images and other stereotypes of dehumanized sexuality. This remedy is sometimes also indicated for men who need to develop a stronger relationship to feminine warmth and positive sexuality. Hibiscus creates flowing warmth throughout the body and soul, especially healing the sexuality.

Beech flower essence is supportive of positive attitude, acceptance and tolerance, particularly where one may have grown up in an environment of criticism and harsh expectation. Often this lack of self esteem or oversensitivity to one's environment is expressed through verbal criticism or harsh judgment of others. Beech flower essence softens the soul pain such persons feel; as they re-establish connection with their Higher Self, they sense the love an unconditional acceptance that radiates from the spiritual world. Through this warmth of soul, they are able to let go of their harsh and blaming ways, to accept others in the same way that they are accepted by the spiritual world.

The majestic Sunflower brings us to our last essence. Sunflower heals a woman's soul where they have had a distorted or disturbed relationship with their father, or even the masculine aspect of the self. Such a relationship may lead to suppression of natural 'sun-like' radiance. The message of the Sunflower is so universal and foundational that it is beneficial at nearly every stage in the human life cycle. When the soul learns how to harness this great sun force within its Self, it is truly able to bless and heal other human beings and the Earth. All women have within them this capacity to shine like the sun, but many are afflicted in their ability to emanate this solar power in a balanced way.

These essences are some of those often used by women for their healing, and there are many others available to 'fine tune' your flower essence therapy. Guides are available on the internet and in print to help you find other flower remedies that may support your particular condition. Flower essences are safe, and not contraindicated with any medical treatment, and may be an effective adjunct by healing one's emotions or psyche. This can support the most important component of natural health and wellness - the power of a positive mind and happy heart.
