Heartburn, A Sign of The Need For A Heartburn Cure

Heartburn is on the rise. It follows other increases that concern health officials who monitor data trends. Obesity, osteoporosis, and heart conditions are in this category. Almost all link back to poor diet, excess calories and too little exercise. A little investigation will probably show heartburn is related to these issues. Heartburn symptoms are often the first outward sign of other problems.

It’s a huge problem to get millions of people to understand why it is important to take control of their shopping cart. Food, the most important element of a health, is only helpful when people care what they eat. The question is how to get people to take a critical look at their plate.

The supermarket is a good place to take a walking tour of the problem. Just the layout is an indicator of how marketing keys in on shopper’s preferences.

Notice the fresh produce in most stores is located off to the side, out of the natural flow of traffic. all the protein and nutrients that the human body needs for good health is contained in this small percentage of floor space.

As many as a hundred new packaged foods hit the shelves each year. Some of these will survive the competition, but not because of their nutrition stature, but more likely because of taste and convenience.

Become a savvy shopper and a healthy eater, make your encounters with food tasty and nutritional:
Print out a copy of the recommended daily nutritional requirements - This should go on your fridge, where everyone in the family can become familiar with it. The body needs these elements to grow and replenish.

Read the labels that appear on all packaged food products - Good nutrition is not the concern of manufacturers. Even bottled juices may not have the value implied on the front.

Know that what you eat is more than empty calories - Fresh foods are the best, feeding the taste buds or satisfying a craving for caffeine, sodium and fat are only reinforcing bad habits.

Unless fortified, very few packaged foods can compare with fresh produce. There are products like milk, fortified with vitamin D, that are important for calcium absorption. Some breakfast cereals as well.

Heartburn is a condition that can occur on a weekly basis, which should be an indicator that something is wrong. Getting to the core of the problem can lead to solutions to other food related problems. Less obvious is the fact that the same minerals that are necessary to balance an acidic meal are found in the same foods that provide all the other vital vitamins and enzymes that the body needs - vegetables and fruit. It’s that simple: good health is picked from a plant, not ripped from a wrapper.

Aside from salt, fat and a few vitamin fortified products, food shelves contain very little except calories. Use common sense to address the issue of eating for good health.

A journey like this can be an adventure, each step you take will reduce the likelihood of heartburn and lead you closer to a life of optimum health. Eating heartburn free means discovering new eating experiences.
