Crossing Over simply means our graduation from this life to the next. To further answer the question, we must look at our definitions of life, death and afterlife. Our Programming: In today’s society, most of us have been preprogrammed to believe in one life. At the completion of that “one life” we have only two options “Heaven” or “Hell”. So, the question would then become, “How can someone on earth communicate with someone in Heaven or Hell?” Questioning… The closest most of us can come to understanding God, Goddess and the Divine’s relationship with us, is from a parent / child perspective. As Divinity ultimately created us, we can say that we (to an extent) create our children. Now, how many parents give their child one chance to do something right or to learn a lesson? “Now, little Johnny, if you clean your room I will send you to Heaven, if you don’t I will send you to Hell.” Instead, do we not give as many opportunities as it takes for our children to learn? Does it not make sense that an all powerful creator would do the same? Plato says, “It surprises me no more to be born more than once than it surprises me to have been born once.” I would encourage anyone who wonders what they can learn from their own past lives, or past life experiences to experience a “Past Life Regression” with the help of a qualified regressionist. So, what is Life? That question has many answers. One of my favorite definitions is the Holy marriage of Father God and Mother Earth. In essence it is Spirituality piloting Biology. As long as the Spirit is contained within its “Skin Suit” (or body), the body is “alive”. Scientifically, we can see the Spirit hard at work within body. We can measure the electrical impulses of the brain, the heart, and all throughout the body. The experience of being in a body separates our souls and gives us a sense of “self”. With that individuality we can have our own experiences and growth. However, anytime you wrap electricity in insulation, it has a much harder time making contact with other “sparks” the same holds true with us. The price of our individuality is sometimes felt as a loss of connection with each other and the Devine. This is however illusionary and perceptual because we are all still connected. So, what is Death? Death as we define it is simply the Spirit no longer being contained within the Body. From the moment of separation, scientifically we can see all electrical impulses cease within the body at the time of “Death”. This would be the most basic definition of the term. However as we know, we cannot destroy energy. It has been proven time and again that energy can be transmuted or changed but not destroyed. So just because the Spirit is no longer incased within the body does not mean that the “person” ceases to exist. From my perspective quite the opposite holds true. “Death” by another definition would be “the freeing of a Soul”. So, what is the “Afterlife”? That is a very multifaceted question. Technically the “Afterlife” would be defined as “all time spent outside of a body”. In fact it could even be called “Between Life” if your definition of “life” (as stated above) deals simply with biology. The afterlife is that time after we have shed our insulation (bodies) and can once again make full contact with other energies (God, other Souls, etc.). There are many levels of the Afterlife just as there are many stages of “life” itself. An Analogy… First imagine God (or Goddess) as the ocean. Then view every soul as a few gallons of water in that ocean. We would all be connected and the Divine would have the sum total of all of our thoughts and experiences. However, if you pour a gallon of water in the ocean where does it go? Could you ever extract that exact same gallon of water back out of the ocean? Would there be any sense of self once the water had rejoined all of that other water? That is the beauty of “life”. Life is simply taking your gallon of water out of that ocean and putting it into a container for a short time. So, take this time to experience all that you can. Get to know yourself in as many ways as you can. Test yourself. For when it is over, and “death” occurs, you will have the opportunity to pour your gallon of water back into the ocean and rejoin it all again bringing everything you’ve experienced with you. So, how can we communicate with those who have Crossed Over to the other side? We all have the ability to recognize ourselves for what we really are… Spiritual Energy. Once we realize that we are, in essence, spiritual, and then we admit that we have the ability to connect with other Spirits. We simply must take the challenge to overcome our insulation (body) in order to make contact. We must forgive our upbringing, preconceived notions and our understandings of our taught reality in order to make that connection. This is exactly why is it so easy for children and animals to make “psychic connections” as they have nothing to “unlearn” first. It is also why those loved ones who have Crossed Over often times visit us as we are just falling asleep or just waking up. We are not yet fully conscience and in our judgments of what we allow as our reality. A trained Psychic is simply someone who has devoted, time, prayer, study and practice in the pursuit of putting the body aside and opening themselves up spiritually to be in service to their fellow human beings. Anyone can do this. Just as anyone can play basketball. It is a matter of “natural talent” and how much time you spend on the court!
