Awareness of Spirit
The last paragraph of my previous article included the question, where does
spirituality start and how does one begin to attune and maintain this
connection? I said I thought the first thing is to start feeling good in this
new knowledge, in the truth that you are a wonderful spiritual being having a
physical experience in a life that you have chosen, a life that best suits you.
It may be that you need to feel better about yourself and there are many ways to
achieve this depending on what is holding you back. There should be nothing
holding you back, spirit has always existed, it’s not starting, only developing
in your own life because you have become aware, but since we have had years of
conflicting information we have to re-program ourselves and the old ways of
thinking, sometimes it may feel like a struggle, but it becomes easier and the
good news is that with practice it is achievable.
One of the most helpful advises told to me is… “Remember to breathe out!”
Breathe out… No matter what the situation, no matter what is causing you stress
or confusion, breathe out… (it‘s all part of your divine life and for your
divine good. There is a lesson in this situation for someone.) That’s all you
have to remember, breathe out and by natural law your body has to breathe in to
sustain life. Becoming aware of breathing helps one to be grounded. Take some
time even if it’s in the bathroom and breathe out, this will help you to remain
calm and deal with the situation appropriately without getting over involved.
It’s just like counting to ten.
Breathe out Life, Breathe in Love, Breathe in Life, and Breathe out Love. The
trees oxygenate our air and what we breath out they re-cycle and make it clean
again for our next breath. We are in unison. It is the law of nature; it is part
of the circle of life. It is universal Love!
Affirmations and meditation: - these also help us in many ways to overcome old
ways of thinking and patterns of destructive behaviour. Our brains have been
programmed a certain way based on our education, what we learned at home, what
we think of ourselves, our circumstances, or our own self value and image. Some
of these learned thinking patterns are no longer useful in our new knowledge and
it is time to release these negative thought patterns. The one I most hear
people struggle with and the one I struggle with myself and it is that “I am not
worth loving,”
To change this thought pattern we have to replace it with another like I love
myself and I am loved or I give and receive love easily. (Remember the breath).
The Divine loves you and accepts you unconditionally right now! Write these
replacement thoughts down; repeat them until they become your new truths. You
will be amazed at how well they work and how better you will feel. This is the
same for any negative thought. We can counteract them by putting in place a new
positive thought about a situation or self. This new positivity will begin to
have an effect on the situation, as well as relationships you have with people,
as well as creating a better sense of self.
Meditation is quiet time for self; it can be 15 minutes or 1 hour, it is quality
time you take out to connect with yourself and the Divine, it is time to look at
your day, release anything that did not turn out the way you had hoped or
anything which caused you discord or upset.
It is a time to connect to self and forgive and let go of anything that you feel
you didn’t deal with appropriately. It is not a time to self condemn, it is a
time to release all to the universe and to forgive anyone who may have hurt you.
There are many ways to meditate and many different affirmations you can use.
There are many links on this site that can direct you to other sites which deal
with Affirmations and Meditation in more detail that may be helpful.

Feelings vs.
Emotions There are two ways of reacting to a feeling - we can react in a way that has
nothing to do with the feeling but is a past emotive experience, which comes
across as extreme over feeling, or we can have a feeling or experience and can
honestly express that feeling exactly as it should be... |

Open Up to the Suffering (Part Three)
(giving the wound some air)
Often the suffering we feel is hard to pin down. We just feel a
little off, and disturbed, but don’t know why. This comes from our
tendency to push suffering away, and avoid it. This however limits
our ability to overcome it, or be truly released from it...
