ENLIGHTENMENT COMES WHEN YOU DECIDE TO BE ENLIGHTENED
Dear Free Spirits,
Recently I had a
conversation with a new friend, a Lutheran Minister, now retired. I was in
his home inspecting his heating system. I visit almost 2000 homes a year,
and I get to talk at length with family members. We were talking about
reading the newspaper and watching the news on TV. I explained that I don't
do either anymore, and gave it up years ago because of all the negativity
that is sensationalized. He remarked that it is a good idea to keep up with
world news so that we stay current.
experience over the years I have visited people that consider this world
Heaven, and I have also run into people that consider it Hell. These people
are living in the same time and space, and yet their perceptions are
opposite. If we consider that life is what we make it, then it is
understandable that world wide opinion creates the world's circumstances.
War is a reality in our present times because that is what we are
considering, it is in our thoughts every time we read the newspaper, watch
TV and talk to others. I believe that one should be aware of such things,
but one does not have to make it part of their life. Even those that are
against war, give it life by recognizing it. They are themselves in a war
against war. Those that are for peace, live in peace, demonstrate peace, and
only think of peace.
world is a wonderful place, were, by choice we can experience all things.
Although there may be wars waging, beatings, rape, starvation, natural
disasters and poverty. There is also new life, compassion expressed in the
helping of a friend or stranger, new art, new enlightened books, stories of
love, and beautiful music and flowers. When one shifts his focus from the
later to the former--that is what his new experience will be. It's not a
matter of ignoring what's going on, it's simply a matter of choosing what
you wish to experience.
***My new book "Your
Life Was Never Meant To Be A Struggle" was just launched a few weeks ago. It
has not shown up in the book stores yet. But my publisher says that may take
several weeks and sometimes months. Apparently marketing the book will take
two to three years. It's such a wonderfully empowering book that I want
everyone to have a copy. The awareness that I bring to you in the book is so
powerful, there is nothing that will ever get in the way of your desires.
You can help a poor starving writer buy not waiting for it to appear in the

DON'T TRY TO SAVE THE WORLD
All probabilities exist at the same time, and in the same
space. What you wish to experience is just one probability that already
Life is a buffet of endless choices that is already
available to us. Everyday we choose what we want to experience this day.
Whether we turn right or left at the end of the driveway is not dictated to
use by necessity, responsibility or anything else. It is a conscious choice.
The fact that we do have responsibilities only leads us to make certain
choices that reflect how we feel about those responsibilities. If we choose
to experience them we make a choice at the end of the driveway that says
“I’m responsible.” If we do not wish to accept the responsibility that we
have created, we simply make a choice that says “I’m not responsible.”
Our actions represent our thoughts—it is a physical symbol
of how we are thinking in the moment. We cannot demonstrate a thought
physically that does not demonstrate our true thoughts unless we are insane,
and even then there is a thought behind the action.
The world is perfect the way it is. The circumstances and
conditions of the world are our thoughts made manifest. The world is the way
it is because that is how we want it to be. If it is not, then it represents
our global insanity—our thinking is not working. But the world does not have
to be changed—we do! If what we are experiencing is not what we desired or
want to experience, then there is something that is not working for us, and
it needs to be corrected.
If we consider ourselves highly evolved persons and we have
created a world that we do not wish to experience—there is something wrong
with our thinking. We have clearly not demonstrated our superiority or
enlightenment as a collective world body.
There are only three possible exceptions to this—we may
indeed be insane, or it was our desire to experience this world as it is
now. The other possibility is that we created a situation that has huge
benefits and opportunities for growth. It is easy to pollute, but much more
difficult to correct the problem. The industrial revolution has done much to
expand our technical expertise, but has done little to demonstrate our
enlightenment. However the fallout from this growth may be a gift in
disguise, and within our ability to turn our circumstances around.
It may be our subconscious desire to expand even more
quickly in order to save ourselves from the damage that we have done. When
people have a common goal, i.e., one of survival, they begin to work more
effectively together and change comes quickly. Reaction to crisis or
disaster brings unity in thought, and the combined thought process brings
greater changes faster.
If humanity sees itself as lost, the global circumstances
are reflecting that thought. In order to restore order chaos is created, and
the chaos demands more thought energy and unity to bring order once again.
It is clear that as a race of people we have not really
evolved very much spiritually. So at a subconscious level we are now
creating circumstances in our environment that are going to give us the
opportunity to learn from our mistakes, and bring out in each one of us, a
whole new era of thoughtful enlightenment that is life affirming.
The circumstances of the world, natural—disasters, poverty,
cruelty, inequity, and war are not punishments from God or anyone else. They
were created by us individually and en masse. They are opportunities for
growth, and greater co-operation and spiritual enlightenment. When we rise
from our own insanity, and see what is obvious—what we have done—we will be
able to change it.
The world is the way it is, because it is what we wanted to
experience at some level of consciousness. We now have another opportunity
to change it, if we no longer wish to experience it, in its present
condition—if we can accept the responsibility for its condition, then we
also have the power to change it. If we pass that responsibility onto others
or God, then we will be waiting a very long time for them to change it. The
creator does not perform miracles—he gave humanity to ability to do them for
Miracles are simply thoughts manifested, that do not
reflect current conditions. The world does not need a miracle unless we
believe that it does. Then, and only then will we have the power to change
it. If disasters and wars are the wake-up call for a world that it has gone
insane, then we are now in the position to acknowledge it, and alter our
thoughts to manifest the world we desire to experience.
It is not necessary to change the world from what it is.
This probability will always exist. It is within each of us to change our
thoughts about the world, and how we want to experience it, and manifest the
world that we desire into our present reality.
Leave this world alone—create something new. Put all your
efforts and energy into thoughts of a new world that you wish to experience,
and you will create it. If it is your desire to experience changing the
present world, that is were your energy will go, and that is what you will
experience. If you want to experience a “changed” world—focus your attention
on that world which already exists as another possibility.
However you cannot put all your efforts and energy into
creating a new world, while you are still holding the same thoughts that
created the one that you now experience. That is another demonstration of
insanity—change comes when you change your thoughts, and your actions
reflect that change. You can’t keep doing the same things expecting
different results—it just does not work that way.
You can not save the world—the world does not need saving.
You need to save yourself from yourself.

life was never meant to be a struggle—somewhere along the way you
lost sight of that fact.
This earth is not a
school, and you were not put here to learn anything. In fact, you
were not put here at all—you chose to come freely to the physical
earth, and experience life in a way that could not be experienced
You were given abundance,
and freedom of choice, to create anything you desired without fear
What you are witnessing
now is unconditional love or freedom to mess up your life as many
times as you desire. The creator does not care what we do—but that
we do it. Life must be expressed in all its possibilities,
unconditionally, or it is not love.
You have such awesome
power within you to change the way you are living, and the only
things standing in the way are your own thoughts.
You have all the
attributes and characteristics of the creator—you just don’t know

When I first began Roy's book I
was a bit of a skeptic. Entrenched in long-standing mores, I
believed that "life is real, life is ernest and the grave is not its
goal." His formulas for a better life were too simplistic -until I
started to put them into practice. Now, I'm a true believer, and
realize that, you can be better than you are, and "Your Life Was
Never Meant to be a Struggle."

Sometimes we look at others that have a more evolved awareness as
holy, special, or just different. Even with the awareness that we have we
are still grounded in earthly affairs, and are not different than anyone
else. The Buddhist saying goes: Before enlightenment comes carrying water
and chopping wood, after enlightenment comes carrying water and chopping
wood. With higher awareness comes the ability to recognize the cause of our
circumstances, and move away from it quickly, knowing that we are the ones
that created them--we are not victims.
AN EMAIL FROM
June 23, 2006
Your page on manifesting just came up in a Google
search. I liked your article and could relate to it on many levels. At this
point in my life, I am experiencing what may be called a "desert
experience"–an appearance of lack to which I have responded with a whole
slew of negative emotions from intense fear bordering on terror, to where I
am now–peaceful anticipation. The fact is my bank account shows barely
enough money to cover this month's expenses, and to which I interpreted as
the threat of homelessness. I often had this thought about being
homeless—if and when anything would happen to my mother, because my
employment situation always seemed so sporadic and tenuous.
It was the fear that I would be homeless that caused the intense feeling of
terror to such degree that caused an emergency trip to see my doctor. If I
didn't get a grip I was creating a "Job experience—what I feared has come
Now mind you I have been a student of metaphysics, new thought, ancient
wisdom, abundance consciousness and new age material for at least 30 years.
Over the course of the years, I have accumulated a whole library of books,
audios and videos in physical form. On top of all the material in fixed
form, I have downloaded an entire library of early new thought writers and
contemporary authors in PDFs and MP3s from the Internet. However, I can
honestly say I am experiencing an awakening like nothing else for going
through this experience. It has brought home the fact that despite all my
reading and studying, I have failed to diligently practice the principles.
In fact, in the face of my pronouncements to be committed to creating
change in my life, by all indications, up to now, I apparently have allowed
a poverty consciousness to dominate my world rather than a full-awareness of
affluence, wealth and abundance. The reason I know this, is by looking at
this present experience, and looking at my history. You see, my dear sweet
mother whom I loved with all my heart recently passed away (December 2005).
I pretty much devoted my life to her care and support for at least the last
10 years, and we shared an apartment together. I might add I was an only
child. I made a conscious decision to be at her beck and call because I
loved her so very much.
My mother was a very special person in that I
believe the purpose of her life was to teach us how to love unconditionally.
She had many, many friends, and an extended family of "adopted children."
I can recall from my childhood, several of my friends would say they wished
my mother was theirs because she was so easy to talk to. She was like that
until the day she died. I even gave her the nickname, St. Lucille (her
first name). In the course of caring for her, I failed to think ahead. I
didn't take care of myself because I failed to build a life for myself.
Now by all indications, I seem to be
unemployable for a permanent job because of my long history as a contract
worker in the legal support field. I don't regret making the choice to take
care of her (in mind my there really was no other choice), but I should have
taken better care of myself along the way.
By the grace of God, I am still here—I will survive this, moreover, I
will thrive as never before. I am now free to live my dreams. I believe
this whole experience is grist for the mill. There is a writer in me that
wants to come out and play. There is a singer in me that wants to sing and
there is a teacher in me that wants to share all these wonderful life
changing principles. I have always run from my dreams especially the one
about teaching spiritual principles because I am not an ordained minister
and I have really had no formal training in this area. Also, I have not
lived up to them—hence, I always felt I would be perceived as a fraud.
Recently, it was brought to my attention that
one way of increasing one's understanding of these principles is to teach
them—with the attitude that we teach what we need to learn. So, that is my
license to teach. In fact, I heard one of my favorite ministers, Michael
Bernard Beckwith of Agape of Los Angeles say, when one has spent a lifetime
like I have accumulating spiritual knowledge, and has not practiced or
allowed him or herself to be a blessing to someone else, the accumulation
can cause "spiritual constipation." Now I now have an imperative to teach.
So I have received my work order—practice the principles focusing on the
laws concerning manifestation with my whole being until I see results with a
complete attitude of trust and with the knowledge that I am not trying to
make anything happen but simply be a vessel through with I allow the
Universe to use me as its container. In the steps I'm working with,
releasing, feeling gratitude is next to the last step in the manifestation
process, the final step being taking physical action as I am directed by
Spirit or my Highest Self.
